COVID-19 has shifted my life in a whole new direction. Ever since the virus reached Austin, my school made students learn remotely. Now that school is remote, so are sports. Instead of having a built-in workout everyday between volleyball and softball, I practice at home by myself and without a coach, meaningI have to self-motivate instead of attending practice everyday. My volleyball coach helps by sending us drills that we can try at home.
Sometimes I feel lazy and unmotivated.Working out everyday and eating healthy is hard without my normal school and sports routine. I can feel the effects of not working out everyday because everytime I actually practice, I can feel myself move slower since I am not keeping my muscles toned. I realize that if I keep up these habits, trying to pick up sports again will be difficult. So I am trying my best to shake bad habits by moving my body when I can and by cooking yummy recipes that give me strength. My favorite thing to eat for breakfast is Beef Sausage & Egg Muffin Cups. I make them with my sister and sometimes we even swap the beef sausage for leftover pot roast.
Everyone is struggling in their own ways right now, and that’s ok. All we can do is try our best.
